What injectable treatments does Bonita offer?

We offer a full range of cosmetic injectables: neuromodulators (Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin) for wrinkle relaxation and therapeutic uses like hyperhidrosis; dermal fillers for volume restoration and contouring; Skinboosters for deep skin hydration; and vitamin injections. Every injectable treatment at Bonita is performed by our Nurse Practitioner, Jessica Caceres, NP.

What is the difference between Botox and dermal fillers?

Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin are neuromodulators that temporarily relax the muscles causing dynamic wrinkles, including frown lines, forehead lines, and crow's feet. Dermal fillers are gel-based and add volume where the face has lost it, or smooth deeper lines present even at rest. A consultation helps us identify which combination will give you the most natural result.

Will I look overdone?

Our philosophy is enhancement, not transformation. The goal is always that you look like yourself: rested, refreshed, and well. We use conservative volumes, anatomically guided technique, and a genuine commitment to natural results. We would rather you come back for more than leave looking like you had something done.

Is it safe to have injectables performed by a Nurse Practitioner?

Yes. In Ontario, Nurse Practitioners are regulated by the College of Nurses of Ontario and have an extended scope of practice that includes performing cosmetic procedures such as injectables. Jessica Caceres has been practising in medical aesthetics since 2017 and holds advanced training in injection technique and facial anatomy.

Most clients find injectables more comfortable than they expect. Neuromodulators are administered with very fine needles and are typically described as a brief pinch. Dermal fillers contain a local anaesthetic (lidocaine) that improves comfort as the treatment progresses. We work at your pace and never rush the appointment.

How long do results last?

Neuromodulators generally last 3 to 5 months. Lip filler typically lasts 6 to 9 months, while cheek and jawline filler can last 12 to 18 months or longer. Skinboosters are recommended in a series with maintenance sessions every 6 months. We will give you a realistic timeline at your consultation.

What should I avoid before and after my appointment?

Before your appointment, avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements including aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E, and alcohol for 48 to 72 hours where possible. After injectables, avoid strenuous exercise, lying face-down, and direct heat for 24 hours. We provide a full aftercare guide at every appointment.

Can I get injectables if I am going through perimenopause or on hormone therapy?

Yes. There are no contraindications between cosmetic injectables and hormone therapy. Many of our patients pursue both, because hormonal changes affect the skin from the inside while injectables address them from the outside.

Can I get injectables while pregnant or breastfeeding?

No. Cosmetic injectables are not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. This is a standard safety precaution. We are always happy to help you plan your treatments around these stages of life and will welcome you back when the time is right.

COSMETIC INJECTABLE TREATMENTS

Wrinkle reduction, facial enhancement, and other wellness goals can be achieved with customized treatment plans. All cosmetic injections are performed by our Nurse Practitioner, Jessica.

WRINKLE RELAXANTS

Reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Botox®/Dysport/Xeomin works to relax facial muscles, inhibiting some or all movement.

As we age, fine lines and wrinkles can give us the appearance of looking tired or angry, making us look older than we feel. By injecting a small amount of Botox, Dysport or Xeomin into specific muscles within the face and neck, the muscles relax and soften. The muscles that have been injected can no longer contract as they once did.

- The results begin to appear within three to five days for Dysport/Letyboand 5 to 7 days with Botox. It may take up to 14 full days to see the full effect of the treatment.
- The effects of this treatment are temporary and typically last anywhere from three to four months, at which point the wrinkles and lines gradually return and can be reinjected. With repeat treatments, fine lines and wrinkles are likely to become less severe as the muscles become conditioned to relax.

DERMAL FILLER

Dermal fillers are used to instantly replace or add volume to specific areas of your face to enhance your natural features.

Our Restylane® and Ravanesse Dermal Fillers help to hydrate and replace volume in the dermis (the second layer of the skin). By replacing the volume that is lost over time, the skin appears more youthful and fresh.

SCULPTRA

Sculptra is an injectable dermal filler biostimulant used to treat fine lines and wrinkles and to stimulate collagen production. Sculptra activates your skin’s natural power to revitalize collagen production for a more youthful appearance, adding fullness to the face, temples, and jawline.

Sculptra works with your body to stimulate collagen production lost to aging, rebuilding, and reinforcing your skin’s structural foundation. Through a series of treatments, typically about three sessions over a few months, it restores the support and volume of youthful-looking skin, providing results that can last up to two years

SKINBOOSTERS

Restylane Skinboosters, Vital and Vital Light, are used to correct fine lines in the lower face, neck and hands.

This treatment requires 3 treatments, 4-6 weeks apart, and then a booster every 6-8 months thereafter (which consists of 1 treatment only).

GLASS FACIAL

A microneedling treatment, incorporating a cocktail of products, designed to enhance the skin's texture and radiance. This treatment uses fine needles to stimulate collagen production in conjunction with other skin treatments to improve skin quality, resulting in a smooth and rejuvenated appearance.

VITAMIN INJECTIONS

Vitamin B12 or Lipotropic (B complex - fat loss) injections, typically injected once monthly. Great for individuals with vitamin deficiencies causing fatigue, low energy, difficulty concentrating, and low metabolism. Injected into the arm or buttock area.

Note: Patients suffering from an active infection, cancer, or other autoimmune disorders are contraindicated for this treatment.
