Acne & Back Acne Treatment in Ontario

If persistent breakouts, congestion, or back acne are affecting how you feel about your skin, you deserve thoughtful care and a clear plan that supports long-term health and confidence.

YOUR’RE NOT ALONE

Acne Can Be Painful, Persistent, and Frustrating

Acne isn’t just a skin issue, it impacts how you feel each time you look in the mirror. You may have tried products that only deliver temporary relief or online routines that miss the root cause.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Adult acne, especially in women, is most commonly driven by hormonal fluctuations. During perimenopause, shifting estrogen and progesterone levels can trigger excess sebum production and increase sensitivity to androgens, resulting in breakouts along the jaw, chin, and neck. Other contributing factors include stress (which elevates cortisol), certain medications, diet, and the use of pore-clogging skincare products. Understanding the root cause is essential before selecting a treatment approach.

  • We offer a range of clinically supported acne treatments, including medical-grade chemical peels, HydraFacial with acne-specific serums, laser treatments targeting acne-causing bacteria and inflammation, SkinPen microneedling for post-acne scarring, and medical-grade skincare protocols using AlumierMD and ZO Skin Health. For clients where hormonal imbalance is a contributing factor, Jessica Caceres, NP can assess and address the hormonal picture as part of a comprehensive approach.

  • Yes. Back acne (often called bacne) is very common and very treatable. Many of the same treatment principles apply: reducing inflammation, clearing congestion, and regulating sebum production. Chemical peels and laser treatments can be performed on the back, and we can recommend a targeted home care routine to support your in-clinic treatments.

  • Some clients experience a brief purging phase in the first 2 to 4 weeks of starting a new medical-grade skincare protocol, as the skin accelerates its cellular turnover and brings congestion to the surface. This is temporary and a sign that the treatment is working. Our team will prepare you for what to expect and support you through this stage so you know what is normal and what warrants a check-in.

  • Most clients begin to see meaningful improvement within 6 to 12 weeks of consistent treatment. Acne is a chronic condition for many people, which means ongoing management is often more effective than one-time treatment. We build a plan that is realistic for your schedule, budget, and skin goals.

  • Absolutely. In fact, a consultation is exactly the right starting point. Our team will assess your skin, identify the likely contributing factors, and recommend a treatment plan tailored to your specific situation. You do not need to arrive with a diagnosis.
